Last year Instagram launched its Snapchat-eqsue Stories, and whilst not exactly original, the feature's been a runaway success.
Now Facebook is hoping to reproduce that easy win by launching its own version of Stories.
Storybook ending
Facebook Stories is now available on iOS and Android in Ireland, with a greater roll out expected in the coming months.
Similar to Snapchat and Instagram, Facebook Stories lets you share photos and video that disappear within 24 hours.
Insta-success?
Instagram Stories now has 150 million users. History tells us that Facebook Stories should be a similar success.
However Snapchat and Instagram are mobile first platforms. While the majority of Facebook users are now mobile, the fact that Stories can't be viewed on desktop may create a disjointed Facebook experience.
Stay tuned to see if Facebook Stories hits a home run (and potentially puts a dent in Snapchat's upcoming IPO), or goes the way of the Poke.
