Facebook gets Romantic

Facebook plans to launch its own dating feature within its flagship app, rather than creating a standalone one.

Social love

Though it isn’t quite ready to launch, Facebook is making a clear statement that it's looking to enter Tinder territory with its own Facebook dating feature.

The foray into romance seems to be geared more towards users wanting to find a partner as opposed to something more casual. We’ll see.

The onboarding samples unearthed by analysts seem to show a thorough process that will include a great deal of privacy control, and the inclusion of non-binary, transgender, and orientation options.

Limit to the lust

Details have surfaced that Facebook may put a limit on how many partners a user can express interest towards.

There won’t be a paid subscription model but users will have to be 18+ and live in the US, which will likely expand to the rest of North America and beyond if tests prove positive.

It's interesting that Facebook isn’t going with a standalone app with all the flash and pop of its competitors, which could mean it's after a more mature crowd. Let the experimentation begin.

Would you be inclined to date through Facebook? Do you think the service will add value or not so much? Let us know your opinion in our comment section.
