Facebook Groups gets Even Bigger

Facebook is upping the maximum amount of users for Groups and video conferences.

More the merrier

In what will be big news for active social communities, Facebook will now allow up to 250 members per Group.

Facebook has begun preparations to merge features from Groups and Messenger – with promises of no annoying spam. But the benefits don’t just stop at a the new 250 member cap.

Now, users can engage with video conferencing for up to 50 people. The new push is about connecting people easily and with inclusivity, which should make having round table discussions easier.

Death by notification

To curb the risk of being over-notified from active Group discussions, users will receive an invite and be given the opportunity to receive further notifications.

Users can also choose from set levels of notification, meaning they can turn off message reactions and Messenger games.

As always, admins will have full control over what settings are being employed. Facebook attempted something similar in 2016 with Rooms and failed to create waves. It's looking like Groups may have more standing power.

Have you been wanting to hold larger groups or video chats? Do you think Facebook’s new features will be a hit or go the way of Rooms? Let us know what you think in our comment section.
