Last year saw the launch of Workplace, Facebook's enterprise collaboration app and Slack rival.
Now Facebook is looking to woo more big spenders with a free version of the app.
Talk to me
Dubbed Workplace Standard, the new offering is aimed at businesses wanting a paid solution for specific teams or departments, rather than their entire workforce.
It's also self-service, and will not come with the administrative and admin tools that are bundled with the paid version (now called Workplace Premium).
Too little, too late?
Facebook has made many advances into the enterprise space over the last year. It launched Facebook at Work, and recently moved into LinkedIn's patch with a jobs listing feature.
However the mobile work space is dominated by Slack (with 1.5 million subscribers) and Microsoft Teams. At last count Workplace had signed up "thousands" of users.
We'll have to wait and see if Facebook's carrot and stick approach wins over more customers from the business end of town.
