LinkedIn: Interview Culture in 2018

LinkedIn has posted its review of interview tactics prevalent in the new year and the tricks to being the most competitive candidate.

Show them what you got

Interviews are leaning further into research-based approaches with more of an audition element. They want to know what you can really do, not just on paper, opting for more comprehensive tactics.

LinkedIn has found 60% of recruiters indicated candidates are not demonstrating their soft skills in the majority of interviews. Soft skills being the sum of what kind of worker you are in the day to day.

However, LinkedIn offers tips on overcoming behavioral questions which tend to focus on leadership, teamwork, and time management, as well as a list of highly sought skills in the current climate.

Talk with a pro

There’s very little that can compete with the value of speaking with someone from your desired industry personally and Career Advice is designed to help link you with a professional to do just that.

And be sure to focus on keywords and applicable skill sets likely to be tagged by resume sorting software. Features like LinkedIn’s Resume Assistant can show you real industry resumes to help.

As trends continue to evolve, it’s important to stay competitive with what employers are looking for and it appears LinkedIn is doing virtually everything it can to connect users with relevant industry insight.
