Dropbox’s latest app has exited the beta phase and poised to bring real-time documents to its list of services. Welcome to Paper.
Paper cuts Google
Anyone familiar with Google Docs will find the layout of Paper fairly intuitive. The added benefit of real-time document editing allows team members to work on projects simultaneously.
Paper offers a cleaner interface as well. The toolbar has been trimmed away leaving more room for generating content. But a streamlined workspace isn’t the only appeal.
The manager is in
Dropbox has incorporated project management capabilities from the ground up, allowing for less need of peripheral apps. Adding task lists and allowing notes to sync with Google calendar further compounds flexibility.
In a push to challenge established platforms, Dropbox is also releasing Smart Sync, the business friendly arm of Paper, allowing entrepreneurs to preview an archive of files before downloading specific work.
Paper combines all the features of typical document and project apps in an efficient package with streamlined file sharing as top priority. Paper may have some weight.
