Facebook's 1.3 billion users can't get enough of photos.

Every minute 136,000 photos are uploaded on Facebook, over 300 million every day. 

More importantly, photos are by far the most engaging form of content on Facebook, generating over 87% engagement from fans.

Twitter is also catching on to the photo frenzy. Tweets with images see a very respectable 35% boost in retweets.

If you want to get more traction for Twitter snaps, consider tagging people and adding up to four images per tweet.

App attack

Instagram remains the leader in social snaps. After overtaking Twitter last year with 300 million users, Instagram is slowly rolling out more options for brands.

However unlike other platforms, you still don't have to pay to play. Even with organic content, Instagram attracts 60% more engagement than Facebook. Get on it while you can. 

Aussie influence

And finally, don't forget that close to 20% of Australian social media users access five platforms on average per day.

Their most popular past time? Uploading photos and video.
