Pinterest is launching Pinterest Search and Lens on home feeds, in a effort to boost mobile and visual searches through the platform.
Seek and pin with more efficiency
According to Pinterest, a new search bar imbedded in the home feed will enable users to simply type in a keyword, rather then opening a separate Explore tab.
The new push for efficient searching comes from Pinterest’s goal to improve mobile browsing experience, with text searches up 40% in monthly use and 85% overall year-to-date.
Long term planning
Pinterest says that it can take up to three months for users to act on a purchase, after an initial interest with 73% of users relying on three-word searches. While 97% of all searches don’t include a brand name.
Early planning and non-brand bias could give advertisers a unique insight into consumer habits and the new search features will allow users to connect with brands in new ways.
Do you take three months to research and purchase with Pinterest? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
