Here at SMK we generally try to review apps that have a business or social element, something that will help you do your job even better.
But every once in awhile it's good to stretch our virtual legs and review apps that are just plain interesting. Into this latter category falls Calendarium.
Book a date
This iOS app works on a simple but nifty principle. In addition to being a full service calendar, Calendarium provides you interesting tidbits about what's happened on any particular day.
For example, on the day this article is published it's probably no surprise to learn that it's Remembrance Day.
But did you also know that in 1675 Gottfried Leibniz first demonstrated calculus, and in 1880 Ned Kelly was hanged?
More recently, on this day in 1975 the then Governor-General Sir John Kerr dismissed the Whitlam government.
But wait there's more
In addition to the facts for trivia and history buffs, Calendarium also gives you the sunrise and sunset time, moon phases and geographic coordinates.
Plus there's the added bonus that Calednarium doesn't need an internet connection to work.
So if you're looking for something a little left of centre to bring up at your next business meeting, consider giving Calednarium a whirl.
