Always the tinkerer, Twitter is now experimenting with new ways to measure the engagement levels of tweets.
Talking Heads
Tech Crunch reports that Twitter is allowing a small number of users to see how many people are clicking on the links posted in their tweets.
This info is presented in the expanded Tweet view, with users clicking on a "View Analytics Details" link to be taken to more detailed metrics including impressions, interactions and overall engagement.
Shortcut
While the experiment isn't exactly groundbreaking, it could provide a nice shortcut for brands who want to quickly see how individual tweets are performing, without having to wade through clunky analytics.
If it's a success expect to see a wider roll out. Until then, back to the dashboard.
