Folks who use Google’s Data Studio are getting new toys to share. Folks who don’t use Data Studio are being given reason to consider doing so.
In bed with Embed.ly
Data Studio is a simple and practical way to pool data from a bunch of sources – centred around Google properties. You then generate reports, including neatly configurable charts and tables.
If you get a hankering to publish your visualisations, embed.ly is now supported to efficiently and attractively embed Data Studio reports on any of the many platforms that use it—that includes Medium, Reddit and many others.
Social snips
Data Studio is also now supporting rich snippets, so its links will look better in social media posts. To see it in action, simply link to a Data Studio report in a post on a major network—including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, Hangouts and Slack.
General data sharing
Still in beta, Data studio is yet to settle down into a holding pattern as it expands to full functionality.
The fact that it stores reports as Google Drive files means it’s simple to use Drive’s pre-existing capabilities to make files public, or to share them with teams or individuals.
Do visualisation give your reports an edge over less visually generous reporters?
