Facebook has released two new tools giving brands the ability to control and customise how users view and share their videos.
Self-censor
Facebook announced the updates, an improved video uploader and new Video Library, in a blog post.
"We’re building tools to help video publishers grow their businesses on Facebook, and we’re excited to announce two new updates that give publishers more control over how their videos are organized and shared."
Improved video uploader
Facebook's new video uploader gives brands greater control over how videos are distributed.
For example, brands can decide which videos can be embedded on third-party sites, while 'Secret Videos' are only accessible via a direct URL link.
Users can also restrict who sees their videos based on audience age, gender, location, and language.
Videos also now feature an expiry date and can be published directly via the Video Tab, without appearing in the News Feed or Timeline.
Finally, users can add custom thumbnails and label their videos based on interest categories.
Video Library
The Video Library is designed for users to organise and update their videos.
Here users can do a number of actions, such as edit video metadata, manage distribution options, search by title and complete bulk actions.
As Facebook's video views keep exploding, expect similar updates on the way.
