Facebook has just announced Product Ads, a new unit designed to help merchants promote and sell their products online.

Facebook announced the news in a blog post.
"Product ads offer businesses a number of ways to highlight different products on Facebook.
"Marketers can upload their product catalog and create campaigns targeting certain products to specific audiences, or let Facebook automatically deliver the most relevant products to people," Facebook explained.

Product Ads can reach users in a number of ways. Brands can target customers who visited specific page on their website, and select which products to showcase.
The new units are also targeted to users based on their activities and interests, which Facebook says will lead to a more tailored experience for users.
Advertisers also have the option of displaying products in single or multiple ad units.
