Email marketing might not be the trendiest kid on the marketing block, but it's been around for a long time and is not going anywhere – as long we use emails at least.
Happily with a few small tweaks you can take your email marketing campaigns to the next level, as this recent infographic from Madison Logic demonstrates.
1. The personal touch
It's no surprise users respond more to emails address to them, so always include a personalisation in your campaigns.
Users are 22 per cent more likely to open an email addressed to their first name.
2. Less is more
You should avoid overt sales-speak in your emails, which might make it look more like spam.
Instead try to frame your titles as questions, and keep them to a minimum when it comes to word count.
3. Get colourful
We're visual creatures and email is no different. Madison Logic found emails with orange and red at the beginning of the email fared best for open and click-through rates.
4. Test and test again!
There's no point making changes if you can't measure their effectiveness.
Make sure you do A/B testing with large segments of your email database to find out what's working. Finally, keep testing and tweaking!
