DIGITAL MARKETING NEWS

A new art of storytelling with Storify

Curation platform Storify embodies new ways of digital storytelling, allowing users to curate social media to compile a meaningful narrative around a story or issue.

Storify’s strength is adding value to information by acting as a filter that cuts through the huge amounts of data available online and highlights meaningful coverage.

Social the new source of news

Storify allows users to curate social networks that build social stories, bringing together diverse media sources in a narrative that can be constantly edited.

Users curate the elements by dragging and dropping status updates, photos or videos from various social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.

Some traditional news media have taken notice and are joining in, with The Guardian’s Storify account showcasing news in a more visual and engaging format. The trend towards increasingly customised news facilitated by social platforms is also demonstrated in Twitter’s newly introduced weekly email digest.

Building brand loyalty

At the recent SXSW Pepsi used Storify to capture the discussions happening in their pavillion, whilst brands including Levi's have used the platform to push out promotions and test consumer response to products.

By asking users to contribute, engage and share in the discussion, Storify offers brands a way to create a more personalised narrative with consumers.
