Google is implementing a new recommendation program to make Android development more intuitive for businesses.
Google certified
To curtail the trickery in choosing the right Android device ideal for a particular business, Google has unveiled the Android Enterprise Recommended program.
The new program is designed to help IT departments select Google devices that have been officially deemed “enterprise-ready.”
Criteria of certification adheres to disclosing minimum hardware specs, support for large scale deployment, and the management of profiles and devices regarding consistent user experience.
The fine print
Google’s program also requires manufacturers provide security updates within 90 days of release and be made available for the next three years.
At present, the list of recommended devices includes BlackBerry’s Motion and KEYone; Google’s Pixel, and the Huawei Mate among a dozen others.
The list is sure to expand, especially as it does not include any Samsung products, but the support is growing.
Have you used Google devices for your enterprise? What are your thoughts on the new program? Let us know in the comments below.
