Facebook goes to war against Fake News

Facebook is rolling out a new feature that overlooks your filters to provide a broader perspective, in an effort to count fake news.

No (fake) news is good news

Relevant content will now be presented with a list of links to additional articles. The goal is to promote fact-checking amongst trending topics appearing across Facebook.

The format generates the awareness of alternate sources and multiple publications, before readers have even chosen a link.

The hope is to create middle-ground for views instead of conservative and liberal news unable to penetrate filter settings.

Conservatively liberal or liberally conservative?

At the nucleus of this new approach appears the hope that individual opinions will be better informed. It could also restore Facebook's cred as a viable news source.

With better access to counter-arguments, Facebook has so far received positive feedback from users on both sides of the aisle.
