Bandanna Day
The Bandanna Day website profiles young people living with Cancer, and how joining CanTeen has benefited them. The moving, first person stories serve as engaging reminders of the importance of the organisation.
The website also offers eight creative ways to wear your bandanna.
Facebook competition
In consultation with Match Media, The Bandanna Day Facebook page supports a magazine and radio campaign.
A competition is being held to find ‘the quirkiest, most original way to wear a CanTeen bandanna’. Participants are encouraged to wear bandannas during activities like baking or bike riding, or style their bandannas has headwear, neckties or belts. Pictures can be uploaded to the Bandanna Day Facebook page and entrants are to be judged on participation and originality. A prize is not offered.
Claire Treadgold, CanTeen’s National Program Manager says, “Wearing your CanTeen bandanna is a powerful gesture that demonstrates to all young people living with cancer that they are supported and they are not alone. So we are asking all Australians to get involved in this fun photo challenge to raise awareness and show you care.”
Target
The Facebook competition is aimed at parents who, having children of their own, empathise with the children experiencing Cancer.
