Facebook has unveiled a new ad format allowing Brand Pages to actively promote upcoming Events.
Roll up, roll up
Facebook announced the new units, called Event response ads, in a blog post.
“In the coming weeks, Pages will be able to create ads for desktop and mobile News Feed that boost awareness of events and drive responses.
“Previously, these types of ads were only shown in the right-hand column on desktop,” Facebook explained.
Event response ads can be created using Facebook’s Ad Create tool and Power Editor.
Eventful update
Facebook has also updated the Events page, with analytics now available in the right-hand column of the page. Facebook hinted that more advanced metrics will soon be coming for Pages using events.
In addition to this, individual users’ Events pages feature a new look and more detailed information about upcoming and suggested events.
Events are increasingly big business on Facebook. Every month over 400 million people use Facebook events, with 30% of these created by Brand Pages.
