Facebook is launching a Save feature that will allow users to tag content such as videos, TV shows and links for later viewing.
Saving grace
Facebook announced the news in a blog post.
“Every day, people find all sorts of interesting items on Facebook that they don’t have time to explore right away.
“Now you can save items that you find on Facebook to check out later when you have more time,” wrote Facebook software engineer Daniel Giambalvo.
Never forget
Users simply tap on the content they want to save, which is then organised into categories such as movies or links.
Saved content can be shared with friends and accessed on any device. So if you save a movie from Facebook mobile, you can watch it later on your desktop.
Facebook will also send you occasional reminders about saved content you haven't yet accessed.

The update will potentially be a bonus for both users and brands, as companies running video campaigns might see greater longevity with the Save feature.
And of course all those saves will be good for engagement and Facebook's advertising dollars. Although Facebook claims at the moment they have no plans to use the Save function for ad targeting.
Save is now being rolled out across iOS, Android and desktop versions of Facebook.
