The Online Circle has just released its Annual Facebook Performance Report, and as always it makes for compelling reading for anyone looking to discover what’s hot property when it comes to Australian social users.
Top dog
When it comes to fan engagement, the Australia.com Facebook page is top of the pops. This is followed by Babyology, Fifi and Jules, B105 and Channel 9.
Fan figures
In terms of raw fan figures, Australians can’t get past comedy, nostalgia, ice cream and bananas.
The Facebook page with the most fans remains Australia.com, followed by Bananas in Pyjamas, Hamish & Andy, Bubble O’Bill Ice Creams and Home and Away (Official).
Radio star
Who said radio was dead? According to the latest stats Radio is the industry driving the most Facebook engagement, followed closely by TV Shows and Airlines, and Travel and Tourism (it’s worth noting Airlines experienced the highest fan growth in 2013)
Sporting Clubs and News and Magazines make up the top five.
Branded
Once again Australia.com takes out top honours at the largest brand page, followed by Visit Queensland Australia, Dreamworld Australia, Qantas and Flight Centre Australia.
FMCG
Australia Facebook users really like caffeine and energy drinks. Coca Cola is still tops with Australian Facebook users, while V Energy Drink Australia, Slurpee Australia, Dare Iced Coffee and Coca Cola Zero make up the top five FMCG Beverage brands.
For FMCG Snackfoods Bubble O’Bill Ice Creams takes top honours, with 5 Gum Australian & NZ and Cadbury Dairy Milk taking silver and bronze respectively.
Financial
Once more the Commonwealth Bank leads the financial institution pack. The CBA accounts for both the largest fan base and highest engagement from fans in the Banks and Financial Institutions sector.
Making up the rest of the pack comes American Express, NAB, Westpac and CUA.
