Mark Zuckerberg recently announced the popular social media network has achieved its milestone of 2 billion average monthly users.
We’re all “friends” on Facebook
Back in September of 2012, Facebook sat at a comfortable 1 billion, a staggering achievement for any social media platform of the time.
Zuckerberg, along with product director Mike Nowak and product manager Guillermo Spiller, had reported 1.936 users at the end of March, making their goal of 2 billion an inevitability.
2 billion marks a significant undertaking for Facebook, but that’s not the only milestone they’ve projected.
And they want to thank you
The team has also announced several additional monthly milestone goals, such as 1 billion users creating personalised groups, 800 million Likes, and a slightly less lofty 175 million using the Love Reaction icon.
In gratitude, Facebook will automatically enable a “thank you” video following any posts wishing happy birthday, creating a group, or reacting with Love.
Is it possible Facebook is nearing saturation? Do you feel there is credence to the milestone? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below.
