Facebook is about to unveil a massive redesign of its popular Company Pages feature.
Leaner, meaner
Facebook explained that the changes, which roll out this week, are aimed at giving Page Admins access to more relevant tools and information.
Company Pages now feature onn streamlined column that resembles the recent update to personal Facebook pages.
Gone is the previous two-column layout, meaning all posts now appear on the right hand side. The left hand side of Company Pages now contains information about the brand including maps, business hours, contact details and content such as photos and videos.
Admin tools can now be accessed from any page.
Pages to Watch
As part of the update Facebook also added “Pages to Watch”, which can be found in the Overview tab under Page Insights.
This feature allows users can add other Facebook Pages and monitor their posts and engagement levels.
Another feature called “The Week” gives a weekly snapshot into Company Page analytics such as Likes, reach, ads and notifications.
However “Custom Tabs” hasn't made the cut, and from screen shots no longer appears available on Company Pages.
A win for brands?
This update looks like a welcome addition for Page Admins, especially the “Pages to Watch” feature.
By keeping a keener eye on how competitors are faring, Admins will be able to tweak their own content for increased engagement.
