Fashion bloggers from around Australia will come together to learn and network at the inaugural Fashionopolis fashion bloggers conference.
Nuffnang
The industry day is presented by Nuffnang. “We saw a need in the fashion bloggersphere where fashion bloggers wanted to learn about how to be better bloggers and wanted an opportunity to network with country's best as well as network with Australian brands,” says David Krupp, Country Manager of Nuffnang Australia.
Special guests
The day will bring together high profile bloggers including Lady Melbourne’s Phoebe Montague, who will host the day, leading fashion journalist Patty Huntington, industry icon Sarah Gale and industry stalwarts Philip Boon and Jenny Bannister. Industry experts Kyra Pybus of Pybus PR, Amber Venz of monetization platform RewardStyle and Krupp will also share their knowledge.
Education and networking
Krupp says the aim of the day is “to educate fashion bloggers about how to be better fashion bloggers and to provide an environment where they feel comfortable networking with one another and Australian brands.”
Rising above the mummy bloggers
Fashion blogging is on the rise. “In the last 3 years the fashion blogging community is one of Nuffnang's fastest growing segments in terms of growth in blogger numbers and one of the most in demand from advertisers,” says Krupp. With its popularity comes signs the industry is maturing, with various blogger agencies popping up.
“The fashion blogging community is likely to be the strongest category in Australia in the not too distant future,” says Krupp. “Whilst other agencies may emerge and independent bloggers may try and go out on their own, fostering the growth of the wider fashion blogging community is what is most important to ensure the bloggersphere continues to grow in stature from a perspective of credibility and advertiser interest.”
At the same times bloggers become more savvy, brands are learning how to engage with bloggers. “Brands are starting to realise that working with bloggers is different to working with journalists,” shares Krupp.
Along with discussion on brand/blogger interactions, the day will deliver education on how bloggers can enhance their communications with readers.
