Foursquare has launched a new app aimed at business owners and merchants.
Foursquare for Business is the check-in service's second standalone product and was announced via a blog post on Tuesday.
Merchants of mobile
In mid-2012 Foursquare updated its offering for brands, and Foursquare for Business is an extension of these features.
The new app allows business owners to share Foursquare updates on Facebook and Twitter, view recent check-ins and post Foursquare specials.
However, the app isn't entirely optimised. Users must create Foursquare specials on a Mac or PC then manage them via Foursquare for Business.
Check-ins good for checkouts
While Foursquare for Business is currently only available in the United States, it will presumably rolled out globally to Foursquare's one million business users as incentive not to use Facebook mobile or Yelp.
