Instagram adds Emoji Slider Polls

Instagram users can now gather their own data in a fun and easy way through a new polling endeavour.

Sliding onto Instagram

The latest interactive story feature is called Emoji Slider and works as a sticker that can be added to any photo or video that allows users to vote with a slide scale.

The Emoji Slider is similar to the polling stickers users may already be familiar with, but allows for a much wider range of responses.

To get started, users must select the scale icon within the sticker tray, add an applicable question, and pick the emoji they'd like.

Friends and fact finding

After coming across a friend's poll, you can slide the emoji left or right and release. You'll then be given access to the range of answers posited by other friends within the poll.

The feature could have implications for brands wanting to take the temperature on new products, or just current opinions.

Once more, Facebook has taken something made popular on Snapchat and made it their own, with a few niche innovations and flare.
