Instagram has released an update that makes hiding comments from trolls a breeze.
Time’s up trolls
The latest version of Instagram’s iOS and Android apps sport the update, which lets brands filter and hide inappropriate or abusive comments.
To hide the offending comment, click on the ‘Hide Inappropriate Comments’ tab and Instagram will begin filtering words and phrases commonly reported as on the nose.
You can also add your own words and phrases to the block list.

While the update isn’t foolproof, (it’s still possible to be offensive using a variety of terms), the move is a welcome one from Instagram.
Following recent moves from Twitter and Microsoft against online abuse, it looks like brands and users finally have stronger tools to battle trolls.
