Instagram has made it easier to share new types of content with your pals, all without missing an update.
Share to Care dude
First off, you can now send photos and videos to your friends without cropping. This means content can now be sent in its original format of portrait or landscape, instead of Instagram’s default box.
The second update adds support for links send via Direct. This means if you send your pals a link, they’ll be able to preview content, such as images and video, in a thread.

The updates come as Instagram beefs up its messaging chops. Launched in April, Instagram Direct now has over 375 million monthly active users.
While that’s far short of the billion plus users Messenger and WhatsApp boast, it hints that direct messaging could become a big deal on Instagram. That, and re-imagining Snapchat features.
