LinkedIn has just launched a new tool that aims to help its users get better acquainted.
Connect the dots
LinkedIn has dubbed the new feature “How You’re Connected”, and in a blog post explained the update is intended to help users make more meaningful connections.
“Professional goals become more attainable when you’re able to connect and collaborate with others who can help you achieve them.
“Finding the best path to meeting these key contacts can be daunting though,” wrote LinkedIn product manager Udi Milo.
When a user is viewing another LinkedIn member they’re not connected with, they can now see which LinkedIn connections they have in common, and how these users know each other.
For example, two users might be linked through a common interest in digital marketing, have attended the same secondary school, or may share a love of competitive frisbee.
The more the merrier
Whatever the relationship, LinkedIn's latest looks like making introductions that little bit smoother – especially important considering first impressions count.
“How You’re Connected” is now being rolled out to English members, with more features and a global roll out coming in the following months.
