When it comes to writing up stats about social networks, not one comes close to YouTube.
It not the be the biggest but YouTube offers so many mind-blowing facts and figures that it's hard to know where to start.
However we here at SMK are always up for a challenge and have put together list of what we consider the latest and most gob-smacking YouTube stats.
The billion club
YouTube has long enjoyed a healthy visitation rate of over 1 billion monthly users.
These users are a fairly industrious lot, watching 4 billion videos every day and some 6 billion hours of video every month.
The cycle
When these users aren't watching or commenting on videos, many of them are uploading new ones and starting the cycle again.
At latest count 100 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute.
Teenage fan club
YouTube is uniformly popular around the globe. 80 per cent of YouTube traffic originates outside the US, while China is reported to have 60 million users. YouTube is also available in 61 languages.
14 per cent of US adults admit to accessing YouTube at work, while 50 per cent of US teens list YouTube as their favourite website.
Top of the pops
The most subscribed channel on YouTube is Music with over 85 million subscribers. Coming a close second is Gaming with 79 million subscribers.
Music website Vevo is the most popular YouTube partner with 47 million viewers, while Gangnam Style remains, for better or worse, the most popular YouTube clip of all time with over 1 billion views.
Money bags
Brands spent US$5.6 billion on YouTube advertising in 2013, while over the same period YouTube pocketed a tidy US$1.96 billion from global ad revenue.
