Video's been kind of a big deal on social for awhile now, with Snapchat and Facebook seeing 8 – 10 billion views per day.
Now Pinterest is turning to video to help brands tell their tale more creatively.
Videography
Pinterest announced its upcoming plans in a blog post.
"Video helps people visualize how to make ideas happen.
"In fact, people have told us that when they come across a how-to video on Pinterest, they’re more than twice as likely to give it a try (versus videos they find on other sites)."
Seeing is believing
Pinterest says there's been a 60% increase in videos on the platform over the past year, covering everything from home products to hair and beauty tutorials.
To help address this demand, Pinterest has launched personalised recommendations to match videos with your tastes. A fully integrated video player that makes watching clips on Pinterest more streamlined has recently been launched.
