Pinterest has released a blog post giving hints on how to snag millennial moolah.
Cashed up
Pinterest says that as millennials mature, so do their bank accounts. Over a third of "older" millennials on Pinterest (those in their late 20s and early 30s) have household incomes of US$100K or more.
And they're looking to purchase higher-end products. Here's how Pinterest says you can attract them.
Guided tour
Pinterest reckons millennials are most receptive to brands that help them navigate their way through high-end options.
For example, highlighting how your brand compliments items they already own. Pinterest referenced a recent campaign where Gucci partnered with Vogue for a street style campaign 100 Ways to Wear Gucci.
Likewise, Burberry has seen success promoting its more affordable Cat Lashes Mascara and make-up range.
Education
Finally, Pinterest says millennials are receptive to category eduction.
Case in point: diamond retailer Forevermark teaches new customers searching for an engagement ring how to research diamonds.
