PopTip, the service that lets brands conducts polls on Twitter, is now available on Facebook.
Strawpolls
PopTip is different from other polling services, as it allows brands to ask questions in casual, conversational language.
For example, Coca Cola might post a picture of a new bottle and ask users what they like about the design, or what colours and shapes they prefer.
PopTip then collates and analyses the responses in realtime, even if users misspell their response or use an incorrect hashtag.
While Facebook already has its own Polls, PopTip has the advantage of allowing brands to post media such as photos or videos along with their question.
In addition, by conducting simultaneous polls with Twitter and Facebook users, brands can glean a broader insight into their users' preferences.
At US $1,000 per month per handle PopTip doesn't come cheap, however PopTip claims it has a 10 per cent response rate to its polls, as opposed to the industry standard of 1 per cent.
For brands looking to test the waters with new products or measure consumer sentiment, it might be prudent investment.
