While Mailbox apps are a dime a dozen, occasionally there's a diamond in the rough.
We recently stumbled across Mailbox, and were pleasantly surprised by its approach to taming the inbox.
Mail tamer
Mailbox uses intuitive swipe gesture controls to help users gain control over unwieldy inboxes.
Once the app is installed it will ask for access to your existing email accounts, them Mailbox will create a new inbox from scratch.
It doesn't sound like much, but it's quite liberating seeing a brand new inbox free of clutter.
Swipe away
Once the emails start flowing, you can rank and categorise them based on importance. For example, Mailbox allows you to instantly reply, archive, scan entire conversations, send to a list, or set reminders to respond to your emails.
You can also set up Mailbox to perform specific actions (archive, alert, snooze) with emails from certain users.
The more you use it, the more Mailbox learns and adapts to your tastes.
Less is more
While the concept isn't revolutionary, we found the swipe controls allowed us to keep on top of multiple email accounts. Mailbox feels closer to a hybrid email app and task list than anything else.
If you're sick of an overflowing inbox you might want to consider giving this clever little app a swipe.
Mailbox is available on iOS and Android. To find out more visit mailboxapp.com.
