While it may not have the prettiest name in the social app game, Plague has plenty to like beyond the moniker.
Spread the love
As its name implies, Plague works by allowing you to spread, or “infect”, other users with the content of your choosing.
Users send content to four connections who have Plague installed, who then decide whether to infect four others, or stop the content in its tracks.
Users can also post comments, and the app works without Wi-Fi or cellular coverage.
Private party
While it’s a novel way of spreading information, Plague is part of a growing wave of networks that appeal to users’ increasing desire to spread information privately, rather than the scattergun approach of other networks.
We’ve already seen Facebook respond with Rooms, while one of Ello’s biggest attractions is its anonymity function. It might just work for Plague.
