Snapchat may be many things, but traditional social platform isn't one of them.
In it's latest attempt to match millennials with marketers, Snapchat has released a marketing campaign in the form of an 8-Bit computer game.
Game, set, match
Serena Match Point lets users play tennis as Serena Williams across 22 levels – each representing the 22 major titles Williams has won over her career.
The graphics are simple 8-Bit depictions, but there are nifty details. Such as the accurate portrayal of Williams' outfits across the years.
The final match ends with the 2016 US Open.
Brand smart?
Users can play the game via the ESPN Discover channel on Snapchat, while everyone else can join the action on Gatorade's website.
While it's too early to tell if Snapchat's experiment will be as successful as Serena on centre court, it does hint that the future of social marketing is heading beyond Boosts and Promoted Posts.
