Instagram is beta testing a feature allowing users to publish stories that can only be seen by friends of their choosing.
VIP viewing
The new ability to make stories visible to specific groups of friends is being called “Friend List Stickers” and is touted as a potential game changer.
When posting a story, users will see a message reading “When you place one of these stickers on your story, only the people on that list can see it.”
It’s likely that multiple lists could be created, depending on the content being shared.
Keeping it in the family
Users with public accounts will undoubtedly appreciate the extra privacy settings that can be adjusted for every post.
Though only in the testing phases, the addition mirrors similar privacy features implemented by Facebook over the past months.
Instagram has declined from an official announcement, but “Friend List Stickers” is likely to rollout since Facebook’s already done so. Soon, you too may be able to post with greater control.
Are you surprised at the possible feature of choosing who can see your stories? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
