Pinterest might be the most aesthetically pleasing of all the social media platforms, but there are plenty of reasons to pin beyond liking pretty pictures. Especially for brands.
Pinterest now has over 70 million global users, and drives more referral traffic than LinkedIn and Twitter combined.
Here are three easy ways to become a Pinterest Pro in no time.
Optimise and conquer
There's no point taking the time to make content if no one can find it.
Make sure you optimise your name, boards and pins for Pinterest's search engine so it's reaching the right people.
There are a number of ways to do this – you just have to think about what terms a Pinterest user might use when searching for a topic. So instead of just using your brand name as your Pinterest handle, consider adding some keywords to your handle. This doesn't affect your URL.
And don't forget to add keywords to your boards and pins so they show up more prominently in Pinterest search results.
Be consistent and engage
It's good to get into a routine with Pinterest, that way your fans will know what to expect from you and when. This isn't to say you have to stay in a rigid routine, but it's probably best to pin twice a week than churn out 20 pins in a minute.
And don't forget to engage with other pinners. Like and comment on other posts, and hopefully others will follow suite. You might also like to join, or even create, a Group Board.
Play around with times
Pinterest is a global platform, so posting at different times of day means different audiences will see your content.
Use an analytics tool like Tailwind App to see when audiences best respond to pins, and adjust your sails accordingly.
You can also use tools like Viral Tag to schedule tweets in advance.
