Last week LinkedIn passed 5 million Australian members, and earlier this year it was confirmed as the social media platform of choice for professionals.
Here are three easy ways to get more out of your LinkedIn Page and those valuable connections.
1. Be strategic
Everyone wants to have heaps of connections, but do you really need to connect with everyone you've ever met? Plus LinkedIn stops publicly displaying your connections at 500 hits.
Be strategic in who you connect with and follow up. LinkedIn offers an amazing side door to form personal relationships with professionals in key markets that would have been previously unattainable.
Make a list of those you want to form relationships with and approach them. And once they accept a friend request why not send a direct message? Fortune favours the bold.
2. Divide and conquer
LinkedIn very handily allows you to segment your audience, meaning you can tailor your message to the right audience.
Yes, going through all your connections and re-tagging them under various segments can be time-consuming, but once set up it will mean you're publishing more relevant content and upping your chances of engagement.
3. Analyse and adapt
There's no point being active on LinkedIn and not measuring what works. LinkedIn Analytics is specifically designed for Company Pages and lets you track metrics including engagement, user demographics and the incredibly useful How You Compare tool. This lets you see how your LinkedIn Page stacks up against your competitors.
Use Analytics to tweak your content, get ideas and start kicking even more goals.
