Who says we can't all just get along? A new update from Twitter lets users tag businesses and restaurants using Yelp.
#Yelpers
Yelp announced the collaboration in a blog post.
"Whether you are having a breakfast naan at Yelp’s recently crowned #1 restaurant in the UK, Dishoom in London, or taking in the sights at one of Tokyo’s most popular attractions, Shibuya Crossing, Twitter users can now tap the location icon to tag Tweets with local business information powered by Yelp."
Location wars
Users in the UK and Japan can now tap the location icon in Yelp to add Yelp geotags to tweets.
This will then generate a tweet with content including location names, business details, photos, and Yelp ratings.
Mobile money
Twitter has a similar agreement with Foursquare – however it remains to be seen if the new Yelp integration will replace the Foursquare listings.
Either way, business owners could benefit from tagging their brand in tweets.
The update is now available on iOS and Android, with web support and a wider roll out expected in the coming months.
