As of last week, Twitter has expanded into a more sophisticated and interactive platform.
Expanding Horizons
It has long been possible to expand individual Tweets to preview, for example, photos or video clips. Now users are now able to expand the Tweets of partner websites and publishers to preview text, images and videos straight from Twitter.
This allows users to keep up to date with the latest news headlines quickly and easily, without having to navigate around often busy websites.
Partner Up
Twitter has partnered with some of the world’s leading news sites, including The Wall Street Journal, Breaking News and TIME to bring Tweeters a full content experience, something currently not available on other social media platforms.
The expanding links to these sites now display news headlines, opening news story paragraphs and links to the Twitter accounts of both the writer and news publisher.
Open Viewing
Exclusive photos can be viewed from entertainment partners WWE, Buzz Feed and TMZ, while videos are being supplied by Lifetime and Dailymotion.
Twitter’s expanded Tweets have now been rolled out, with iPhone and Android applications coming soon.
