Twitter finally updates for Mac

While Twitter added more features than ever before in 2015, its functionality for Mac users continued to languish.

Until now: Twitter has kicked off the new year with a long overdue update for Mac.

Twitter for Mac has now been optimised for Apple's new OS X El Capitan operating system, which means Mac-based Tweeters can join Group Direct Messages, enjoy online video playback, and retweet GIFs to their heart's content.

Twitter for Mac is also more integrated with the Notification Centre, and sports a sleek new dark mode.

The update brings Twitter for Mac into line with its mobile offering and other Twitter management services including TweetDeck and HootSuite.
