Twitter might be the master of mobile, but its latest roll-out looks a lot like Facebook.
Don't be a Card
Twitter has changed the way it displays links on mobile. Clunky URLs are out, image-heavy cards are in, similar to the way Facebook displays its mobile content.
While not technically an update (it's based on the 'Twitter Summary Cards' feature) the new look shows Twitter isn't afraid to mimic its rivals when it comes to upping engagement.
Share to care
The new look makes the timeline more streamlined, while the cards also provide additional info so users can decide whether to click-through.
It also bodes well for brands, as campaigns based around Promoted Tweets will now get more real estate on the notoriously crowded timeline.
Twitter's new card format is now available to iOS and Android users.
