Twitter has just announced its Web Analytics service, which will allow websites to measure how much traffic is directed to their site via Twitter. Scheduled to roll out over the next few weeks, this new service presents a range of benefits to businesses.
Track how your content is shared and accessed
Until now, data on Twitter hasn’t been easy to track without a specialised listening platform. With Web Analytics businesses will be able to see who is sharing their content and how via re-tweets and click-throughs. By understanding how users are responding to tweets and how these tweets convert to web traffic, businesses will be able to implement more targeted Twitter campaigns.
More data means more opportunities
Whilst Facebook still out-performs Twitter in Australia in driving traffic to websites, Twitter users are generally of a more lucrative demographic.
Web Analytics is poised to become an integral tool in developing and measuring online marketing strategies. And with Twitter rolling out Promoted Tweets, where advertisers can now tweet to users that don’t follow them, the opportunity for businesses to reach wider audiences online is greater than ever.
