In a sign of the times, the world's second largest search is now 40 per cent mobile.
Video vision
YouTube (which happens to be owned by the world's largest search engine, Google) reported that 40 per cent of its 1 billion users are now mobile. This marks a massive upswing from 25 per cent for the same time last year.
To further illustrate the leap, in 2011 just 6 per cent of YouTube's traffic came from mobile.
Mobile movies
The swing towards mobile is being reflected across the board in social. Close to three quarters of Facebook users are now mobile, up from 56 per cent in 2012 and 43 per cent in 2011.
To its credit, YouTube appears to have seen the writing on the wall.
The platform cut a deal with Apple to get its app pre-installed on the iPhone, recently updated its mobile offering and rolled out new ways users and brands can monetise their video content.
