In news that will surprise no-one, Facebook's latest earning report has confirmed Mark Zuckerberg's social network continues to expand in both users and cash. Billions of both.
Bling time
Facebook's latest earnings report confirms the network now has 1.55 billion users, with 1 billion of these logging on every day. Daily Active Users are up from 968 million in Q2.
While many of these users are in developing markets, Facebook added more new users (4 million) in the US and Canada than for any quarter over the past four years.
Mo' money
There are now 1.39 billion mobile monthly users, a healthy rise from 1.31 billion in the previous quarter.
Mobile daily users now number close to 900 million, and mobile now accounts for 78% of Facebook's ad revenue.
Square eyes
Facebook video is officially kind of a big deal. In April Facebook reported 4 billion videos were viewed every day.
That figure has now doubled to 8 billion.
Daddy Warbucks
Over the past three months Facebook netted a tidy real profit of $US896 million, compared to US$719 million in Q2.
Expect that figure to be higher next quarter: news of the earnings report sent Facebook's shares up by 2.3%.
