Twitter can do many things, but until now time travel wasn't one of them.
Now Twitter's Event Targeting lets brands peer into the future to purchase.
Great Scott!
Twitter's announced Event Targeting in a blog post.
"With event targeting, you can activate around live moments, quickly and easily.
"We’ll help you discover and plan for these moments, learn more about the participating audiences through valuable insights, and with one click, create a campaign that delivers the right message to just the right users as the event unfolds."
Time travelling
Event Targeting works in a similar fashion to TV buying, allowing brands to purchase real-time ads about upcoming events.
The feature is powered by three tools: the event calendar, event insights and event activation.
Pick and choose
Brands can pick their event via the event calendar, which is populated with global tentpole events around sports, holidays, festivals, TV and music. Events can be filtered by location, date, and type.
Event insights gives you more data about the event such as total audience reach, device breakdown and gender. It also lists previous related tweets that attracted broad engagement.
Finally, event audience lets brands create a targeted campaign around the event.
Event Targeting has been in beta over the past few months and is now available globally to advertisers.
