Mac Attack! McDonald’s leads Fast Food chains on Facebook

While McDonald's has had a few misfires on social, you have to give the Golden Arches points for persistency.

So much so that a new study shows Ronald and Co are leading the fast-food chains on Facebook.

McLovin' the Likes

SEO outfit SocialFlow rated the Facebook engagement over one month of seven fast food chains, including McDonalds, Subway, KFC and Taco Bell.

The report found that McDonald's led the pack by Big Mac's worth – notching up over 51 million Likes over 22 posts.

In a distant second came KFC (35m Likes), followed by Subway (27m Likes).

However, comparatively speaking Subway is batting far above its weight. The sandwich chain scored 972,000 Facebook engagements (Facebook shares plus Likes), compared to McDonald's 451,970.

Neutral ground

During the same period, Amobee Brand Intelligence also measured Twitter interactions from the fast-food giants.

And while social blowback and negative publicity often make the headlines, the research found most mentions of brands were equally split between positive and negative tweets.

The exception was Wendy's (19% positive to 15% negative), and Burger King (8% positive to 12% negative).
