In a further tightening of ties across its vast properties, Android users have been given a Google-friendly update.
Driving time
All Android owners can now search for Google Drive files using the Search app.
To get scanning, just type the name of the file you're searching for, and click on the 'In Apps' tab.
Search will then display the relevant content from Drive. Tapping on a file will open it from the relevant Drive app.
See the light
The update is now available globally with the latest version of the Drive app. At this stage there's no word on whether the feature will be rolled out to iOS.
While not a massive update, Android's new search could keep users away from rival cloud services such as Dropbox and Amazon.
