While Apple is notoriously cagey about releasing hard figures, it has finally swept back the curtain on Apple Music to reveal its fledging service now has over 6.5 million paid users.
Tune in
The news was announced by Apple CEO Tim Cook, who also confirmed Apple Music has an additional 8.5 million people using the free trial version.
Considering back in August Apple Music had 11 million people using the free version, it appears nealry half of these have converted to paying customers.
Ain't got the blues
The news comes three and a half months after Apple Music’s launch.
And while the figures are well below the 20 million paying users Spotify boasts, they’re still impressive considering Apple Music still isn’t available on Android.
Tim Cook is still tight lipped about sales of Apple Watch.
